Join Master Meditator Earle Birney to learn how to balance the emotions using tools of introspection and meditation. Earle combines what he's learned in deep three-year retreat with the Cultivating Emotional Balance method to provide an educational training committed to utilizing the experience of emotion as a path to develop happiness.

CEB is an evidenced-based, emotion-focused program sparked during a meeting between behavioral scientists and the Dalai Lama in 2000, as a new approach to understanding our emotional lives. By integrating the wisdom of modern psychology, current emotion research, and traditional contemplative practices, CEB provides a secular platform for this transformation. Program elements include:

- Understanding how emotions can work for us
- Recognizing and working with emotional triggers
- Deepening awareness and stabilizing attention
- Increasing compassion for the self and others
- Cultivating happiness of being and mental balance

Earle started his spiritual studies and meditation training 25 years ago and over that period of time completed the entire 36-course Asian Classics Institute program, and the 10-course Yoga Studies Institute program in Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, and yogic philosophy respectively. Earle pioneered a retreat center in Arizona, where he taught yoga, philosophy, meditation, and led retreats and workshops for many years before completing his three year silent meditation retreat. Earle is now looking to combine modern approaches to these traditional techniques and contemplative practices in efforts to bring the teachings to a wider community, including in his work in youth leadership, in prisons, and in schools.
